Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze participated in the unveiling of a statue honoring Hungarian football legend József Bozsik during an official visit to Budapest, alongside Hungary’s Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó. The ceremony was attended by members of the Georgian delegation and Georgia’s ambassador to Hungary, Nikoloz Laliashvili.
Kaladze, a former professional footballer himself, praised Bozsik’s contributions to Hungarian football, saying, “Nothing brings greater happiness than representing your country and achieving victories for your homeland. József Bozsik brought many successes to Hungarian football and has earned a permanent place in the hearts of fans.”
Foreign Minister Szijjártó pointed out Bozsik’s role in Hungary’s football history and thanked Mayor Kaladze for attending the event. During the visit, Kaladze and Szijjártó also toured a football academy, further emphasizing the importance of youth development in sports.
