Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze held a meeting with U.S. Ambassador Robin Dunnigan. Despite Kobakhidze expressing his respect for Dunnigan, he shared concerns about the recent decision by the U.S. Department of State. The prime minister emphasized that the visa restrictions on citizens and sanctions are troublesome.
He informed the ambassador that such decisions undermine U.S.-Georgian relations and that future actions could lead to a reevaluation of the dynamics between the two countries.
Kobakhidze also suggested that such decisions enhance the opposition’s chances in the upcoming elections; however, he claimed they are counterproductive.
