Compared to 2022, direct foreign investments in Georgia decreased by 24% in 2023. In 2023 direct foreign investments in Georgia amounted to 1 billion 600 million dollars.
As GEOSTAT noted, the decrease in investments is connected with the decrease in debt obligations, which amounted to minus 857 million dollars.
The largest amount of direct foreign investment was made in the sector of financial and insurance activities and amounted to 630.1 million USD, which is 39.5 percent of the total foreign direct investments.
