Georgia’s Gas Transportation Company has found several cases of unauthorized gas facilities connected to the country’s main pipeline network. The company announced that the findings followed information provided by the Ministry of Finance’s Investigation Service on September 9, 2025.
The statement declares that company crews immediately mobilized after receiving notice about a makeshift gas station for vehicles in the village of Berbuki, Gori Municipality. Inspections revealed not only the reported illegal facility but also another unauthorized installation located about three kilometres from the premises of ‘Sauris Ltd’.
The second site contained gas collection tanks, pressure regulators and high-pressure pipes illegally connected to a pipeline owned by ‘Sauris Ltd’. During further search works, specialists also discovered yet another unlawful tie-in to the Saguramo–Vaqa section of the main 700 mm gas pipeline which supplies western Georgia.
The Gas Transportation Company stressed that it continues regular inspections and monitoring of its trunk pipeline infrastructure to detect and prevent unauthorized connections or other violations in a timely manner.
