A session of the Holy Synod of the Georgian Orthodox Church will be held at the Patriarchate on April 3 at 12:00 noon, at the invitation of Shio Mujiri, Locum Tenens of the Patriarchal Throne.
The announcement was made by the Patriarchate’s public relations office.
Based on the statement, the session will focus on organizational matters not fully defined by the Church’s governing statutes. These include decisions on future Synod sessions, preparations for an enlarged Church council, the location of its convocation, procedures for selecting delegates, and other related issues.
The meeting comes amid an important transitional period for the Georgian Orthodox Church, as preparations continue for determining the next steps in its leadership and governance.
