During a European Parliament debate on Georgia, MEP Hans Neuhoff criticized the institution for its stance toward the country’s October 2024 elections.
“For months, the European Parliament has been troubled because Georgians didn’t elect the government the EU had hoped for,” said Neuhoff. “Various committees have been discussing how to punish them for this.”
He also described the European Parliament as a “moral institution that sees itself as judging good and evil in politics,” and stated that the report on Georgia “contradicts EU legislation.”
Neuhoff added that the ‘Europe of Sovereign Nations’ group will not support the report.
