Global delivery service company Glovo is set to expand its operations in the Georgian market by adding two new locations in Batumi and Tbilisi (Isani). Luka Khvadagiani, the Business Innovations Manager of Glovo, shared this news with Business Insider Georgia, highlighting the company’s focus on enhancing its Food Corner/Cook Room direction and increasing the range of services offered to customers.
The first new location in Batumi is scheduled to open this month, followed by the second location in Tbilisi, specifically in Isani, which is planned for September. Currently, Glovo operates in Dighom and Shartava, making it a total of four active locations in Georgia. With over 2,000 partner organizations, Glovo collaborates with a diverse range of businesses, including both large enterprises and small to medium-sized enterprises.
Glovo’s strategy includes a strong emphasis on regional expansion, particularly in smaller cities where there is a growing demand for delivery services. Luka Khvadagiani mentioned that the company recently launched its service in Kobuleti during the summer and has more surprises in store for customers with upcoming launches in additional cities. By extending its coverage to smaller cities with high demand, Glovo aims to replicate the success it has achieved in the capital.
The number of Glovo’s partner couriers has surpassed 3,000, underlining the company’s commitment to efficient and reliable delivery services. Originally founded in 2018 as “Glovoapp Georgia,” Glovo is now wholly owned by the Spanish company “Glovoapp23.”
As the market leader in the delivery service segment, “Glovo Georgia” witnessed a significant 64% increase in its e-commerce turnover in 2022 compared to the previous year, further solidifying its position in the market and its ability to meet the evolving needs of customers in Georgia.
