At today’s government meeting, the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili, said that the students whose status has been suspended due to financial debt will not pay off the debt.
“Students’ education is important for us, for everyone. I want to touch on one problem that worries everyone. This is the issue of the so-called status-suspended students. I asked about it and heard detailed information from the Minister of Education. About 30,000 students have been suspended due to financial debts. Status. Therefore, according to my decision, all these students, whose status has been suspended due to financial debt, will be relieved of their debt and will be able, if they wish, to restore their status and continue their studies in their universities. This is a debt of about 40 million GEL,” Garibashvili said.
