German wine experts, journalists, and bloggers recently visited Georgia with the support of the National Wine Agency and the German marketing firm ‘ff.k Public Relations’.
The delegation explored more than 10 wine cellars and producers in the regions of Kartli and Kakheti over four days.
The group included well-known German sommelier and influencer Toni Askitis who has previously hosted Georgian wine tastings at ProWein Düsseldorf, emphasizing the uniqueness of Georgian wine and the distinctiveness of the Qvevri method.
Being Europe’s largest wine importer, Germany has been one of the primary markets for Georgian wine since 2020, consecutively ranking among the top 10 export destinations.
According to the National Wine Agency, Georgia exported 811,000 liters of wine to Germany, marking a significant increase of 37% compared to last year.
