The National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat) reported that Georgia recorded an average of 1.33 million domestic visitors per month aged 15 and above in 2025.
While the number of visitors declined by 1.6 percent compared to 2024, the average monthly number of visits reached 1.64 million, a marginal 0.2 percent increase year-on-year. The data suggests that although fewer individuals travelled, the overall frequency of trips remained stable.
The average monthly number of tourist-type visits made by Georgian resident visitors stood at 700,000 in 2025, a 4.9 percent decrease compared to the previous year.
Visitors aged 31–50 represented the largest demographic group, accounting for 36.4 percent of the total. Women comprised 56.5 percent of all domestic visitors.
The survey findings are following:
- 8 percent of visitors were residents of Tbilisi.
- 6 percent came from the Imereti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti region.
- 3 percent represented the Adjara Autonomous Republic.
- Other regions accounted for comparatively smaller shares.
In terms of destination, the highest average monthly number of visits was recorded in the Imereti region (364,900 visits per month), followed closely by Tbilisi (357,000 visits per month).
More than half of all visits in 2025, 52.3 percent, were made to visit friends or relatives.
Average monthly expenditure on domestic visits totalled GEL 297.7 million in 2025, reflecting a 0.8 percent decrease compared to 2024.
Meanwhile, average spending per visit declined by 1.0 percent year-on-year, reaching GEL 181.3.
