Georgia’s Public Safety Command Center, operating under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, has announced a new public tender worth 3.2 million GEL. The procurement’s goal is to enhance the country’s video surveillance infrastructure through a video-analytics server capable of identifying vehicle license plates across Georgia in real time.
As the tender documentation discloses, the system must be able to recognize vehicle license plates with at least 90% accuracy under all lighting conditions and operate continuously on a 24/7 basis. A centralized database will allow for quick retrieval and tracking of vehicle information captured by a nationwide network of cameras.
Beyond real-time plate recognition, the winning service provider will be responsible for maintaining the operational stability of the video-analytics platform, addressing any technical issues within 3 hours and resolving them within 72 hours.
Additionally, the contractor must service 151 Dell PowerEdge servers housed in two data centers located in Tbilisi. Damaged components must be replaced within 24 hours for the duration of the contract which runs from August 5, 2025 to August 4, 2028.
Eligible bidders are required to demonstrate at least 12 months of prior experience maintaining license plate recognition systems, with previous contracts valued at a combined minimum of 500,000 GEL.
The tender was officially announced on July 25. Submission of proposals opens on August 22 and will close at 12:00 PM on August 27.
