Georgian wine companies are expanding to the Chinese market through participation in major international exhibitions, supported by the National Wine Agency of Georgia.
Six Georgian producers recently took part in the Fine Wine Hotel Exhibition held in Chengdu, with financial and organizational backing from the agency. The initiative is a part of a broader strategy to diversify export markets and increase the global exposure of Georgian wine.
The agency stated that participation in such events helps local producers establish new business partnerships, expand distribution networks and place a competitive position in one of the world’s largest wine markets.
As part of the exhibition program, a dedicated Georgian wine tasting seminar was held, led by wine expert Fongyee Walker. The event attracted around 100 participants, including importers, wine professionals and representatives of the HoReCa sector. Wines from eight Georgian producers were presented, offering attendees a comprehensive introduction to the country’s winemaking traditions and product range.
Georgian wine will continue to be showcased in Chengdu this week at additional large-scale industry events, including China Food & Drinks Fair and a specialized seminar under the Fine Wine platform.
China remains one of Georgia’s main strategic export markets, with targeted marketing campaigns ongoing since 2013. With continued support from the National Wine Agency of Georgia, Georgian producers regularly participate in leading international exhibitions such as RAW Wine Shanghai, Shanghai International Wine Challenge and Interwine China.
