Georgian wine exports grew in the first two months of 2026, reversing last year’s decline. Official data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat) shows that the country exported 10.5 million liters of wine worth $32.1 million in January–February, a 9.5% increase compared to the same period last year. Locally produced wine ranked as Georgia’s seventh-largest export product, accounting for 3.1% of total exports.
The recovery was largely driven by rising shipments to Russia which remains the dominant market for Georgian wine. Exports to Russia surged by 31.1% year-on-year, with growth recorded in both January and February. Despite this increase, export performance across other markets was mixed, with growth observed in only three of the top ten destinations and declines in the remaining seven.
Poland and Ukraine maintained their positions among the leading markets, followed by China, Germany and several Baltic states. Meanwhile, exports to the United States remained relatively modest compared to regional markets.
