Georgia’s President Mikheil Kavelashvili attended an official reception hosted by US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump in New York, as part of events surrounding the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Speaking about the occasion, Georgia’s Ambassador to the United States, Tamar Taliashvili, noted that President Kavelashvili held a ceremonial meeting and conversation with Donald Trump during the reception. She added that the Georgian leader also engaged in discussions with senior representatives of the US government and various world leaders.
“The exchanges were friendly and carried positive messages,” Taliashvili stated, highlighting the importance of such gatherings for strengthening diplomatic ties.
During the reception, President Trump addressed the assembled leaders from across the globe, underscoring the significance of international dialogue.
President Kavelashvili departed for New York on September 21 to take part in the UN General Assembly and related high-level meetings.
