Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili met with German Minister of Economic Cooperation and Development Svenja Schulze, who is on a working visit to Georgia.
The meeting emphasized the importance of Germany’s support for Georgia’s European integration, including the implementation of economic and structural reforms. Economic relations between Georgia and Germany were also discussed, cooperation in priority areas such as trade, energy, sustainable development, transport, logistics, agriculture, etc. was emphasized.
Special attention was paid to the German-supported program on energy efficiency in public buildings, which provides for the rehabilitation of dozens of public schools in Georgia to increase energy efficiency. The main goal of the program is sustainable and complete rehabilitation of school buildings in order to improve their energy efficiency and increase customer satisfaction.
Current projects, which are being implemented with the support of Germany to strengthen the sustainability of the energy sector of Georgia, were also discussed at the meeting.
Deputy Ministers of Economy and Sustainable Development Genadi Arveladze and Irakli Nadareishvili also attended the meeting.
