The Ministry of Culture of Georgian has reported the passing of Berta Khapava, a famous and celebrated Georgian actress and the recipient of the title of Honored Artist of Georgia. The Ministry released a social media post publicizing information, paying tribute to her legacy, and expressing condolences to her family, friends, and Georgian people.
Before arriving in Tbilisi, Khapava, known for her versatility as both a dramatic and comedic actress, started her career at Gori Theater in 1966. Some of her best-known works include ‘Samanishvili’s Stepmother’, ‘Everyone Wants Love’, ‘Tbilisi-Tbilisi’, ‘My Happy Family’, ‘Anna’s Life’, ‘Orpheus’ Death’, and more.
She was awarded the mentioned title of Honored Artist in 1979 in recognition and celebration of her contributions to Georgian culture, with a star in her name laying bare in front of Nodar Dumbadze Theater.
