Georgia’s National Food Agency has initiated a precautionary investigation into imported Picot baby food products and begun overseeing their temporary withdrawal from retail outlets.
The agency stated that the review was launched despite the absence of an official alert through the European Commission’s RASFF rapid warning system. Authorities said the decision reflects a preventive approach aimed at ensuring consumer safety.
As part of the process, the agency is monitoring the removal from sale of specific product batches, including Picot 1 (400g, batch 8000003312), Picot 1 (800g, batch 8000003297) and Picot 2 (800g, batch 8000003280).
The National Food Agency has also issued a public advisory urging consumers not to use products from the listed batches if they have already been purchased.
