The Georgian Government recently announced that Georgia-Kazakhstan railway freight revenue hit a record of 2.74 million tons in 2024. For information, Kazakhstan Railways is one of the biggest entities of the country, operating a vast fleet, consisting of 46,800 freight wagons and 1,700 locomotives.
Both countries have signed a Middle Corridor Development Roadmap with goals of improving and digitalizing transport infrastructure, as well as making tariff reforms by 2027.
An agreement between the railways of Kazakhstan, Georgia, and Azerbaijan is currently trying to enhance container freight along the Middle Corridor.
