The National Bank of Georgia announced that the amount of deposits from non-resident individuals in Georgian banks amounted to 7.7 billion GEL as of December 2023, which is 128 million GEL more than the previous month. During the last year, the size of deposits of this category increased by 828 million GEL, and in the last two years by 3.6 billion GEL.
It was noted that individuals keep a total of 27.2 billion GEL in Georgian banks, and, among them, the deposits of non-residents were 28%. Non-residents keep their savings mainly (84% of deposits) in foreign currency.
