“I would like to gladly present my first international numismatic project with a Georgian theme, ‘Medea and the Golden Fleece,'” Janezashvili wrote on his Facebook page.
“This year, as a result of winning the relevant tender, I became a graphic designer of the numismatic product of the Lithuanian State Mint, where I work on projects by personal order, in the form of cooperation. Coins are created directly by my authorship, guidance and technical performance, and I allow my friend Georgian artists to take part in creating these products with me.”
It is known to this author that Kakhaber Topchishvili, Director of the Ana Peradze Art Academy in Gori, and a renowned artist going by the name of “Gorely,” designed the coin, while graphic designer Iva Janezashvili finalized it for minting.
The coin is made in an antique style, with deep relief, the colored parts are gilded, and the back side of the coin is decorated with 5 pieces of green Swarovski crystals of different sizes. The coin will go on sale in August and its purchase will be available on the official website of the Lithuanian Mint.
