Pedestrians in Georgia will now face significantly higher fines for violating traffic rules, as amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses tighten penalties for non-compliance.
Specifically, fines are increasing for pedestrians who disobey traffic control signals or ignore road signs and markings. The penalty for such violations will rise from 10 GEL to 50 GEL. In the case of repeat offenses, the fine will increase from 20 GEL to 100 GEL.
Stricter penalties apply if the violation occurs on a motorway or a road of international or national importance. In such cases, pedestrians will be fined 100 GEL, with repeat offenses within one year resulting in a 200 GEL fine.
