ENKA Renewables has officially terminated its contract with the Government of Georgia, the financial report published by the company notes in news spread by Bm.ge.
The document reads that the contract signed on April 25, 2019, was officially canceled, and the property worth $40,389,000 was written off.
On September 22, 2021, Enka, which was building the Namakhvani HPP in the Rioni gorge, informed the Georgian government of its decision to terminate the contract. After that, Natia Turnava, the then Minister of Economy of Georgia, said the government was negotiating with the company. “Our task is to reach an agreement with this company in one way or another, without arbitration,” the former minister stated.
