Employment Overview for Georgia

Total Number of Persons Receiving a Salary

• In 2021, from July to December the average number of persons receiving a monthly salary increased by 3.6% compared to the corresponding period of 2020 and by 4.5% compared to the corresponding period of 2019.
• In 2021, from July to December the average share of persons receiving a monthly salary up to 600 GEL amounted to 27%, which was 2 percentage points less than the corresponding period of 2020, and 4 percentage points lower than the corresponding period of 2019.


• In 2021, from July to December the average share of persons receiving a monthly salary of more than 2,400 GEL amounted to 17%, which was 2.9 percentage points more compared to the corresponding period of 2020, and 3.2 percentage points higher than the corresponding period of 2019.
• In 2021, from July to December on average a total of 13,051 persons received a monthly salary higher than 9,600 GEL, which was 28% higher compared to the corresponding period of 2020, and 31% higher compared to the corresponding period of 2019.

EMPLOYMENT BAROMETER BAG INDEX SURVEY
• Overall, in Q3 of 2021, the BAG Employment Barometer amounted to 11.7 points. It was positive for all sectors, except the service sector.
• In Q3 of 2021, the construction sector had the highest employment barometer indicator with 27.3 points and the service sector had the lowest with -2.3 points.
• Overall, in Q4 of 2021, the BAG Employment Barometer amounted to 20.5 points, which is 8.8 points more than in Q3. In Q4, the Employment Barometer was positive for all sectors.


• In Q4 of 2021, the construction sector recorded the highest Employment Barometer indicator with 50 points and the lowest score was reported by the service sector with 11.1 points.

CHANGES IN THE NUMBER OF EMPLOYEES BAG INDEX SURVEY
• Overall, in Q3 of 2021, 30.3% of surveyed companies increased their number of employees, 3.7% recorded a decrease, and 66% reported no change.
• Overall, in Q4 of 2021, 21.3% of surveyed companies increased their number of employees, 3.7% recorded a decrease, and 75% reported no change.
• Overall, 25% of surveyed companies were expecting to increase their number of employees in Q1 of 2022, 3.7% anticipated a decrease, and 71.3% were not expecting any changes.


• For Q1 of 2022, 50% of surveyed construction sector companies were expecting to increase their number of employees, while 18% of service sector companies were expecting an increase in their number of employees.

TOTAL VACANCIES PUBLISHED ON Jobs.ge
• In 2021, from July to December the total number of vacancies published on jobs.ge amounted to 32,745, which was 106% higher compared to corresponding period of 2020 and 28% higher compared to the corresponding period of 2019.


• In 2021, from July to December the average MoM growth rate for total number of vacancies published on jobs.ge amounted to -4%.

VACANCIES PUBLISHED ON Jobs.ge BY CATEGORIES
• In 2021, from July to December a total of 2,408 vacancies were published in the field of informational technologies, which was 47% higher than the corresponding period of 2020, and 61% higher compared to the corresponding period of 2019.


• In 2021, from July to December a total of 7,400 vacancies were published in administration/management, which was 134% higher compared to the corresponding period of 2020 and 39% higher compared to the corresponding period of 2019.


• In 2021, from July to December a total of 10,845 vacancies were published under the technical/logistics category, which was 122% higher compared to the corresponding period of 2020, and 23% higher compared than the corresponding period of 2019.
