The Minister of Health of Georgia, Ekaterine Tikaradze, stated the need to impose additional restrictions is not being considered at this stage.
She noted the epidemic situation in the country in terms of the spread of coronavirus remains worthy of attention. Since the beginning of October, the increase in cases has been highly localized and has mainly affected regions where the vaccinated population is relatively small compared to others, including Kakheti and Imereti. Tikaradze added that at this stage there are no rapid growth trends.
“The Ministry of Health calls on the population to comply with the established regulations and to get vaccinated. The need to impose additional restrictions is not being considered at this stage. If anyone announces that additional restrictions are planned, it is a lie and serves to mislead the population. It seems that certain groups are doing this on purpose,” the health minister said.
