The Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili says that the information spread by the leader of the Droa party, Elene Khoshtaria, that military equipment was transported from Iran to Russia by a sanctioned Iranian airline plane, is misinformation.
Davitashvili claimed that the mentioned company is not sanctioned and used Georgian airspace in compliance with all the rules.
“This is another feeble attempt at disinformation. Unfortunately, we often hear unverified information aimed at harming the country’s interests. Of course, Georgia fully complies with international rules. The company that used the airspace of Georgia regularly flies to European countries too, it is not on the list of sanctioned companies, and, accordingly, our aviation agencies and navigation allowed it to fly in compliance with all the rules,” said Levan Davitashvili.
According to the leader of the Droa party, Elene Khoshtaria, on September 4, a plane took off from an Iranian airfield and flew to Moscow through the territory of Georgia.
As Khoshtaria said at the briefing, Iran Air, to which this plane belongs, is an American-sanctioned airline.
