On September 16, the Vake Mediatheque officially inaugurated the Czech Corner, a unique cultural and educational space designed to introduce the Georgian public to Czech literature, language, and culture.
The opening ceremony was attended by Petr Kubernat, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Georgia, Nino Anjaparidze, Director of the Tbilisi Multifunctional Libraries Association, as well as cultural figures and guests interested in Czech culture.
The Czech Corner offers readers of all ages access to high-quality literary and linguistic resources. At its launch, the collection featured around 150 books, with plans for regular updates to expand the library’s offerings.
“The Czech Library will be a new space for dialogue and cooperation. It will promote Georgian-Czech cultural relations and serve as an additional source of knowledge for young people,” Ambassador Kubernat said during the ceremony.
The event also included the signing of a memorandum of cooperation, outlining plans for future joint cultural and educational projects between Georgian and Czech institutions.
