Coronavirus: Georgia Reports 1663 New Cases,13 Deaths

Coronavirus: Georgia Reports 1663 New Cases,13 Deaths

Georgia reported 1,663 coronavirus cases, 769 recoveries, and 13 deaths on Wednesday, the official figures show.

35,559 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours throughout the country.

The testing revealed that Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 988 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Kakheti region with 122 cases and the Imereti region with 121 cases.

The total number of confirmed cases has reached 381,336, among them, 361,327 people recovered and 5,492 died.

The daily test-positivity rate also increased: it currently stands at 4,68%, while it was 4,1% in the past 14 days.

Out of 721 critical patients, 175 require mechanical ventilation.

317 537 people got coronavirus vaccine jab so far.

Today, July 14, Georgia received additional doses of the Pfizer vaccine, which will be used in the process of mass vaccination of the population.
