Miners from Chiatura, protesting since February 28, moved their demonstration to Tbilisi, first gathering outside the Government Administration and then moving to the old building of the Public Broadcaster.
Earlier today, the miners arrived in Tbilisi, calling on the government to address the crisis in Chiatura, urging them to interfere with the mass layoffs and the bankruptcy of the Chiatura Management Company which has left thousands of workers without jobs.
The miners are demanding that the Public Broadcaster routinely cover their struggles and give them a platform to share their problems live on air. They argue that their current protests, which have been going on uninterruptedly, deserve wider national attention and coverage.
