A ban on the export, re-export, and transit of vehicles imported from the European Union to Russia went into effect on September 26. This ban applies specifically to cars with engine volumes exceeding 1900 cubic centimeters (equivalent to cars with engines larger than 1.9 liters), including hybrid and electric vehicles. These restrictions were imposed as part of the 11th package of sanctions enacted by the European Union against Russia.
Furthermore, restrictions on the export and re-export of vehicles manufactured in the United States to the Russian Federation took effect on August 1.
