On August 28, a large-scale Russian assault on Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv, left at least 14 people dead, including three children aged 2, 14, and 17. Around 40 others were injured.
The attack began around 5 a.m., involving drones, air, and ground-launched missiles. In total, Russia deployed 629 aerial weapons, of which Ukraine’s air defense managed to intercept 589.
Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko says rescue workers continue clearing the debris of a five-story residential building in the Darnytskyi district, where 12 residents were killed. At least three more people may still be trapped under the rubble, while around ten individuals remain missing.
Search and rescue operations are ongoing.
