A tender was announced for the construction of an ice rink of international standards in Tbilisi. According to the tender documents, the stadium will be built in Didi Dighomi and will combine two fields. The construction of the stadium will cost 50 million GEL. An ice rink of this size has never existed in Georgia. The new stadium will host hockey, figure skating, curling and short track competitions and training practices.
The tender announced last time was unsuccessful, which is why the government announced it again. Three companies participated in the previous tender – ice professionals and partners. A partnership was accepted by Dagi-Zlatograph and Britannia Construction, but all three of them were disqualified.
According to the information published on the website of the State Procurement Agency, the mentioned facility will be built on a plot of land of 16,112 square meters owned by the state.
The purchase will be carried out by the Design-build method; therefore, the interested companies should also offer their architectural projects to the state.
The project will combine two ice rinks. The size of the field will be 60 meters by 30 meters. The number of spectators will be 1500 on the main square, 150-200 on the second square. As for the number of dressing rooms, there will be 6 on the main square, and 4 on the second square. According to the tender documentation, all four sides of the square should be curved in an arched shape and the diameter should be 7-8.5 meters; The first object must be at a height of at least 7 meters from the surface of the ice field; There should be 2 so-called Benches (players’ chairs) that must be separated from the center line by at least 2 meters, length 10 meters, width 1.5 meters. Each bench must have 2 doors to the field; There should be penalty boxes on the opposite side of the bench. Penalty boxes and Penalty boxes should include the so-called Scorekeeper’s Bench, the person who counts the score and the time, who controls the benches assigned to them.
Only those companies that have the practice of arranging or rehabilitating ice rinks will be able to participate in the tender.
“The bidder must have no more than 3 (three) completed contracts for the construction, reconstruction, or rehabilitation (not small repair works are considered) works, of which at least 1 (one) completed contract must include, at least 10,000,000 GEL, construction, reconstruction, or rehabilitation (small repair works are not considered) sports building(s) worth at least 10,000,000 GEL (condition N1 ), or within the scope of no more than 1 (one) completed contract, at least 20,000,000 GEL, construction, reconstruction, or rehabilitation (minor repair works are not considered) works of sports purpose building(s),” the information published on the website of the State Procurement Agency states. .
Acceptance of proposals in the tender will begin on October 11 and end on October 16.
