These women have established self-help groups to address community issues and advocate for them to local authorities. The ambassador engaged in dynamic discussions and was impressed by their commitment and dedication to developing their local economy.
The most memorable part of the ambassador’s visit took place in the village of Tsitelmta, where Hovland had the pleasure of meeting three generations of tea producers.
“We strongly believe that Georgia will benefit from advancing women’s economic empowerment opportunities which will eventually result into the country’s sustainable development,” states the Norwegian Embassy in Tbilisi.
