Georgia’s National Food Agency has announced that the identified batches of imported Picot baby formula have been almost completely withdrawn from sale across the country, following intensified inspections and market surveillance.
The Agency stated that its inspection teams have been overseeing the recall of specific Picot product batches nationwide, checking distribution chains at every level. Controls were carried out in major pharmacy networks as well as wholesale and retail outlets to ensure compliance with the recall measures.
The batches subject to removal are: Picot 1 (400 g, batch No. 8000003312), Picot 1 (800 g, batch No. 8000003297) and Picot 2 (800 g, batch No. 8000003280). Where these products were found during inspections, they were fully removed from sale and designated for destruction aligned with safety regulations.
The National Food Agency has reiterated its appeal to consumers to refrain from using products from the listed batches if they have already been purchased.
The recall was initiated due to a potential risk of the toxin cereulide being present in certain batches of Picot milk-based infant nutrition products manufactured by Lactalis Nutrition Santé (LNS). As a precautionary measure, the affected products were withdrawn from the market to protect public health.
