The National Food Agency conducted regular inspections of food and catering facilities located near schools. hese inspections target bakeries, nearby markets and other outlets frequented by students to examine how safe and healthy conditions are.
Inspectors evaluate sanitary and hygienic conditions, proper food storage, accurate labeling, adherence to expiry dates and compliance with broader food safety standards. In addition to external facilities, food outlets within schools and preschools are continuously monitored to ensure they meet safety requirements.
In 2025 alone, the agency carried out 6,000 inspections, identifying 173 violations. The most frequent issues included the sale of expired products, improper labeling and operation without proper registration.
