TBC Finances the Opening of the First Montessori-Licensed Kindergarten in Tbilisi

With the financial support of TBC, the first officially licensed Montessori kindergarten in Georgia — “Montessori Universe” — has opened in Tbilisi. The educational institution was established under a franchising agreement and is located near Lisi Lake, accommodating up to 180 children aged 2.5 to 6 years.

The total investment in the project amounts to GEL 4.7 million, of which TBC’s financing accounts for up to GEL 1 million.

The kindergarten building was designed and constructed in compliance with both local and international standards. Its infrastructure is fully adapted to children’s needs, creating an environment where students can learn and play independently. All teachers have undergone professional training in the United States at an accredited Montessori training center.

Supporting modern, high-standard educational institutions — and the education sector overall — is one of TBC’s strategic priorities. The bank is actively financing the field, with its education loan portfolio currently reaching GEL 162 million. Through its support of educational projects, TBC, together with its partners, continues to promote global best practices and high educational standards in Georgia.

Clean Air as the Foundation of a Healthy Environment – The Story of “Tesco” Empowered by TBC Business

“Tesco” is a company dedicated to promoting air filtration systems in Georgia. Its co-founder, Mamuka Loladze, is a medical equipment engineer who, through his work with clinics, soon realized that protecting health goes beyond advanced medical technology — clean air is just as essential as accurate diagnosis.

The story of “Tesco” is closely connected with the international brand Camfil, which began producing air filters and purification systems in Sweden back in 1963.

“We started our cooperation with Camfil in 2006, and since then, we have been ensuring the distribution of top-quality products,” — notes Mamuka Loladze.

The COVID-19 pandemic once again highlighted what “Tesco” had been emphasizing for years — clean air is not a luxury, but a necessity for maintaining health and ensuring a safe environment. During the pandemic, the importance of proper air ventilation and filtration became clear to everyone, as it was one of the key measures to reduce the risk of virus transmission.

“Our goal is to create a healthy ecosystem, especially in indoor spaces where many people gather. For modern buildings, heating and air conditioning alone are no longer sufficient. ‘Tesco’ offers customers independent air purification systems of various capacities, which can be installed in each specific area to ensure air cleanliness and, when needed, maintain pressure differences between zones,” — explains Mamuka Loladze.

Today, “Tesco” is expanding beyond Georgia and supplying its products across the Caucasus region. Such growth and success require a reliable partner — one like TBC.

“We have been working with TBC since the very first days of our company. As our goals and operations expand, so does the need for effective banking services. Progress is impossible without financial resource mobilization, and TBC has always stood by us. We consider it a trustworthy partner for our future growth as well.”

Success is on the way — all you need is to believe!

TBC Expands Mobile Banking Access to Students

As a customer-oriented company, TBC continuously creates and enhances products designed to meet the evolving needs of its users — with a special focus on the new generation, whose development remains one of the bank’s key priorities.

To support this goal, TBC is now offering mobile banking access to school students, giving them an even easier way to manage their finances independently.

The TBC Mobile Bank will be available for all students aged 6 to 17 who hold a TBC Student Card.

Students who previously used the hi app will be able to access the mobile bank starting November 1, using the same login details (username and password) as before.

Those who have not yet used the hi app can easily register with the help of a parent directly through the parent’s mobile bank — without the need to visit a branch.

Through TBC Mobile Bank, students will be able to perform key operations independently, such as:

  • Transferring money to their own account
  • Sending money to others
  • Topping up mobile balance
  • Browsing personalized offers
  • Managing their card (viewing details, changing PIN, or blocking the card)

With TBC Capital’s Support, MBC Places GEL 30 Million in Bonds

Microbank MBC has issued GEL 30 million in two-year public bonds within the Capital Market Support Program of the “Enterprise Georgia” agency. The placement was carried out with the support of TBC Capital. This issuance represents the second and final tranche of MBC’s GEL 60 million bond program.

The bonds were issued at a floating interest rate of TIBR 3M + 4.0%, which is 0.25 percentage points lower than the rate on the December 2024 issuance. Investor demand exceeded the total offering volume, with local institutional investors participating in the placement—demonstrating the high level of trust in the company.

MBC plans to use the raised funds to partially refinance previously issued bonds and to cover other financial obligations.

“This marks our second collaboration with MBC. Together with the microbank, we approved a GEL 60 million bond program in April, under which this final tranche was successfully placed. The strong investor interest confirms that this partnership is truly effective.
We are pleased to have supported the company in raising funding while also contributing to the development of Georgia’s capital market.
So far this year, TBC Capital has participated in 14 successful transactions across both local and international capital markets, maintaining its position as a market leader,”
— said Otar Sharikadze, Director of TBC Capital.

“It is especially significant that MBC is the first microbank in the market whose investor is the Georgian Pension Fund. This issuance marks the final tranche of the GEL 60 million bond program. The strong interest from local institutional investors and the oversubscription of the issuance reaffirm the high level of confidence in MBC.
The support of the Georgian Pension Fund highlights the company’s financial stability and investment potential, creating new opportunities for its future growth.
I would also emphasize that, under this project, MBC received a GEL 200,000 grant from the ‘Enterprise Georgia’ agency, which was used to cover issuance-related expenses,”
— said Gia Petriashvili, General Director of MBC.

“I would like to congratulate MBC on the successful bond issuance under the Capital Market Support Program. This once again demonstrates the private sector’s readiness and interest in using the capital market as an alternative source of funding.
It is noteworthy that MBC is the first microbank in Georgia to benefit from this state program.
We plan to continue actively supporting local companies in advancing to the next stage of growth, as improving access to finance remains one of our agency’s strategic priorities,”
— said Mikheil Khidureli, Director of Enterprise Georgia.

MBC is the first financial institution in Georgia to obtain a microbank license. The company’s core business involves lending to micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). MBC operates in eight regions of Georgia, with 17 service centers, offering a wide range of credit products and services.
The leading European rating agency Scope Ratings has assigned MBC a B+ credit rating with a Stable outlook (B+ Stable).

Avokado: How a Pandemic-Era Idea Grew into a Successful Georgian Brand

During the pandemic, when life slowed down and people had more time to reflect, an idea was born — one that would later become known as “Avokado.” At that time, Sulkhan Kiria decided to start producing furniture under this name, giving life to a brand built on one central principle: creating high-quality Georgian furniture.

Today, Avokado specializes in the production of premium mattresses. Each product is made using environmentally friendly materials, guided by a simple philosophy — health and comfort are inseparable.

“For us, it’s important that our customers not only feel comfortable, but also know that care for their wellbeing is embedded in every detail,” says Alexander Kiria, the company’s founder.

Since the brand’s foundation was built on quality and adherence to modern standards, Avokado needed a reliable partner to help bring its vision to life.

“TBC has been a crucial partner for us. Thanks to its support, we were able to successfully launch production and offer products that are setting new standards in the market. We’re also planning to open new manufacturing bases across different regions of Georgia, which will allow us to be even closer to our customers and expand our production scale,” says Kiria.

Looking ahead, Avokado aims to take its eco-friendly furniture beyond Georgia’s borders, with a global vision to make sustainable comfort accessible worldwide.

TBC Hosts Georgia’s First AI Red Team Hackathon – “RedHack”

Five days, 100 participants, 42 teams, and one shared goal — to enhance the first Georgian banking generative chatbot, designed to make TBC customers’ lives even easier.

From September 26–30, TBC hosted RedHack — Georgia’s first large-scale AI Red Team hackathon, organized by TBC IT Academy together with the Data & AI team.

The hackathon’s main objective was to test and improve TBC’s new generative AI chatbot through ethical “attacks,” identifying vulnerabilities, and strengthening its security. Participants challenged the system with various scenarios — including Prompt Injection, Bias and Fairness evaluations, and Hallucination tests — while the AI team continuously improved the bot’s performance and resilience based on the live results.

RedHack was built on methodologies used by global leaders such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and Microsoft, yet the initiative was fully adapted to TBC’s internal culture and environment.

For TBC, artificial intelligence is not just a technological trend — it is one of the key pillars of the company’s long-term strategy. The outcomes of the hackathon reaffirmed that AI security is not merely a technical task for TBC, but a shared corporate mission, where every employee can contribute to creating innovative customer experiences.

RedHack also serves as a message to the broader tech ecosystem: TBC is not just a company that uses AI — it is setting the standards for how AI products should evolve, and how they can be developed and applied responsibly and securely.
