This Easter, DADI wine Bar & Shop located in the historic center of Tbilisi (Sololaki) is collaborating with the თემი ქედელი Qedeli Community Cafe in Signaghi to make and sell traditional Easter Kulich (кулич).
The project is the idea of British baker Michael Hanson, who has over 40 years of baking experience and is in Georgia to explore the country’s traditional bakers and wheat growers.
He has sourced most of the ingredients from farmers in Kakheti, including tsetili doli flour from Bio Farm Pona in Lagodekhi, and eggs, raisins and butter from surrounding villages.
Kuliches will be available to buy on Friday at Art Cafe Cedeli and DADI Wine Bar & Shop.
It is noteworthy that the profit from the sale of the Kulich will be donated to the Qedeli Community which for twenty years has supported over forty disabled adults in a residential facility.
