Several Georgian journalists have been injured during the dispersal of the protest on Rustaveli Avenue.
According to current information, the injured include Niko Kokaia, Nino Lorchoshvili, Mariam Nikuradze, Giorgi Kvizhinadze, Tedo Kvachakhia, Ana Mdivani, and Giorgi Shetsiruli.
Further, police have detained Aleksandre Keshelashvili, a journalist for the online news outlet Publika. He was detained while covering the protest, and according to Publika, the police used excessive force during his detention.
Police forces are using water cannons, pepper spray and tear gas to push back the rally-goers, who demand a free, fair European direction for their country and accuse the ruling Georgian Dream party of having aligned with Moscow in pursuit of Russian interests.
A large number of protesters and opposition politicians remain on Rustaveli Avenue.
