The Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia has announced ongoing investigations into alleged crimes that took place during the elections, including 47 cases being overseen by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Special Investigation Service, and the Prosecutor’s Office. The ongoing examination covers incidents reported regarding fraud, voter bribery, violations, influence on voters’ decisions, threats, property damage, and media impediment.
The investigation was initiated by appeals from political parties, media reports, and NGOs, with investigators interviewing witnesses and assessing evidence.
At the 69th election station of Marneuli, two citizens have been taken into custody on charges of election-related fraud.
The Prosecutor’s Office calls on all those with relevant information to come forward and assist in the investigation efforts.
