Davit Kukuladze was born in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, but spent his childhood in Batumi. This connection drives his desire for all his successes and planned innovations to be linked to Batumi—a city that inspires him with its vibrant energy and deep-rooted family traditions in the health sector. Kukuladze is the director of the “Health House” rehabilitation center and a chain of medical stores, as well as the president of the Educational Association of Physical Therapists of Georgia. In this interview, he discusses the stages of his business development, future plans, and his dedication to Batumi.
Childhood Years and Interests
“My childhood was the best period of my life, shaping both my professional aspirations and my personality. I have vivid memories of colorful moments with my family. Initially, I wanted to become a traumatologist and pursue a career in medicine. However, as I grew older, I found that the field of business resonated more with me. Consequently, I enrolled in the Faculty of Business Administration at the Georgian National University in Tbilisi. During this time, I was also passionate about sports, particularly football, but I never considered pursuing it professionally.”
The Beginning of the Journey
“My family was deeply involved in the medical field, which served as a strong motivation for me. They operated a medical store in Batumi that provided aids for the disabled, medical furniture, surgical supplies, and orthopedic products. I aimed to transform this store into a chain that would extend beyond Batumi and throughout Georgia.
Through hard work and dedication, I achieved this goal and found success in the industry. As our customer base grew, the idea of opening a rehabilitation clinic emerged. Despite the presence of several rehabilitation centers in Batumi at the time, I saw an opportunity. I wanted to ensure that the beneficiaries who came to my clinic were met by a team of highly qualified professionals dedicated to improving their well-being.
Today, the “Health House” rehabilitation clinic is well-known and staffed by experts in the field. During the recruitment process, I realized there was a shortage of specialists in Batumi. The new generation had limited opportunities for advanced theoretical and practical education. Therefore, I felt it was essential to address this gap, leading me to establish the Educational Association of Physical Therapists of Georgia, which offers various training programs to enhance skills in physical rehabilitation.”
Services Offered by Health House
“The clinic is staffed by skilled professionals who utilize modern, evidence-based approaches to medical rehabilitation. We provide high-quality, multidisciplinary rehabilitation services for both children and adults. Our services are accessible to individuals across Georgia and beyond.
The primary areas of our clinic include pediatric rehabilitation, adult rehabilitation, sports rehabilitation, aqua therapy, physiotherapy, and an auxiliary equipment laboratory. Additionally, we invite specialists from various countries to consult with our beneficiaries. Our aim is to create a comfortable environment while offering innovative programs tailored to each individual’s needs.”
Maintaining Market Leadership
“I agree that finding a niche in the medical field and earning public trust can be challenging. In my experience, maintaining leadership in the market requires significant effort. It involves a continuous commitment to quality, as leadership is a collaborative process between the leader and their supporters. My supporters are my satisfied customers, who have relied on us for years and know they can count on our commitment to excellence.”
The Key to Success
“I believe that hard work is the foundation of success. It’s crucial to strive for self-improvement and maximize our potential. This journey is challenging, but it is also attainable, as I have experienced firsthand.
Strengths
“My greatest strength lies in my refusal to accept the status quo. I constantly seek to innovate and improve my work. My self-confidence, motivation, and passion for my field drive me forward.”
Love for Batumi
“Batumi is a beautiful seaside city, characterized by its vibrant architecture, sunny beaches, and charming streets. I particularly enjoy Batumi at night. It truly is a city that shines throughout the year. While I often travel internationally, I always feel that Batumi is the most comfortable and special place to return to. Its unique location inspires me to introduce more innovations in my field. I have a deep love for Batumi and plan to further expand my business there, including both the existing clinic and the opening of a new facility where we will offer even more services.”
The Power of Teamwork
“Our store chains and clinics are staffed with highly qualified personnel. Without my team’s dedication and hard work, my individual efforts would not have been enough to achieve our current success as leaders in this field. My team is my strength. We hold regular meetings to address urgent issues and find the quickest solutions. Open communication and a shared vision are our greatest assets.”
