The Georgian Prosecutor’s Office has called President Salome Zurabishvili for questioning regarding her claims of potential parliamentary election fraud on October 31. This is the result of the Central Election Commission (CEC)’s appeal, requesting an investigation into the alleged election falsification based on Article 164³ of Georgia’s Criminal Code.
The Prosecutor’s Office declares that Zurabishvili and other political parties and representatives might have evidence of election fraud, which will be closely examined during the investigations and hearings. Besides questioning Zurabishvili, the investigation will also include testimonies from people who potentially have relevant information regarding the case.
There is a separate ongoing investigation conducted by the Prosecutor’s Office examining the claimed violations found prior to election day as well as on October 26. The public will be updated on these matters as the case progresses.
