- ge: A Unified Business Platform Powered by TBC Startup
“It only takes an idea” — with this message, TBC Bank reached out to individuals with innovative business concepts, offering financial support to help bring these ideas to life.
Guja Parunashvili, the founder of iTrade.ge, initially approached the offer with skepticism. Despite his doubts, he decided to apply. What started as a simple concept for a platform has now, just seven months later, transformed into a fully operational product. iTrade.ge brings together all businesses operating in the Georgian market into one digital space. The platform allows companies to buy and sell products, announce tenders, showcase their profiles, and communicate online with other businesses.
“Three days after I submitted the application, TBC Bank contacted me to discuss the startup idea. They requested financial forecasts, cost estimates, and other details. Although I remained somewhat skeptical, I gathered the necessary information and sent it to them. Five days later, the same bank representative called me back. They liked the project and were ready to fund it. Their support gave life to this idea,” shares Guja Parunashvili, founder of iTrade.ge. He also emphasizes the importance of a nine-month grace period that lifted the financial burden, alongside support from the Georgian state project (enterprisegeorgia.gov.ge), which subsidizes loan interest and acts as a guarantor for the funding.
The platform officially launched on August 12, and while it’s still in its early stages, many new functionalities are in development. The team is continuously working to enhance the platform, with ambitious plans ahead.
iTrade.ge is a Georgian B2B electronic platform designed to streamline the buying, selling, and communication processes between businesses. It consolidates all businesses operating in the Georgian market into a single space, available only to real users verified by the Georgian Revenue Service (www.rs.ge). The platform also features an integrated online chat tool that enables businesses to negotiate with each other.
“Our platform offers multiple benefits to users. It’s a dedicated space for businesses, where they can discover suppliers, resellers, and potential partners. They can access company information, communicate through the platform’s chat function, and present their business profiles. All registered companies are verified, ensuring authenticity. Our goal is to foster a healthy business environment in the digital era, where businesses of all sizes can make purchases, sales, and establish new partnerships,” says Parunashvili.
Who Uses iTrade.ge?
iTrade.ge serves all business entities operating in the Georgian market. Whether they are involved in B2B sales or purchases, seeking communication with other businesses, or looking to connect with potential suppliers or resellers, this platform caters to their needs. It also features a comprehensive business directory, where companies are categorized by industry, location, number of employees, turnover volume, and other criteria.
The platform’s long-term vision goes beyond Georgia. According to Parunashvili, iTrade.ge aims to facilitate not only local transactions but also international trade, helping companies connect with foreign suppliers and enter import-export markets. Plans are in place to expand the platform to other countries, including China, Turkey, and various European markets.
Currently, the iTrade.ge team consists of 10 members, including developers, designers, and sales managers, all working together to realize the platform’s full potential.
