The import of electricity to Georgia has increased significantly, GEOSTAT stated this week, noting that the majority of this year’s imports, worth $2.59 million, came from Azerbaijan, with the remaining $470,000 from Russia.
Regarding exports, in the first six months of the year, electricity generated in Georgia, worth $36.35 million, was exported, down from last year’s $53.38 million. The largest portion of Georgia’s electricity exports, 83%, were sent to Turkey.
