The Government of Georgia has announced a tender for the strengthening of the high-risk slope of the Tbilisi-Senaki-Leselidze road (149-km) near the Chumateleti-Khevi highway in Rikoti. The total cost of the purchase is 64 million GEL, and according to the tender conditions, the slope must be completely stabilized.
The tender is accompanied by a 130-page document, which describes in detail what kind of engineering works are required to strengthen the slope.
According to the terms of the tender, bidders will be able to submit proposals from December 1 to December 18.
“The bidder, in the reporting period and experience area defined by the tender documentation, must have completed works of a similar type, nature, complexity and content within the scope of one completed contract with a value of not less than 50% of the estimated value of the purchase object of this tender or no more than 3 (three) completed contracts. Works of a similar type, nature, complexity and content should be completed with a value of not less than 60% of the estimated value of the procurement object of this tender,” the tender conditions state.
The slope dynamics were noticed for the first time in June 2022, as a result of which a special road movement regime was established. No shifting has been recorded on the slope, which is why the Ministry of Infrastructure removed restrictions on movement on the road. Preparations for the Khevi stabilization project were underway, and the state officially announced the relevant procurement on November 13.
