Petra Group is further strengthening the global profile of its projects through another important partnership. The Monaco-based gastronomy brand Maya Collection is entering the Georgian market through two Petra Group developments: Petra Sea Resort on the Black Sea coast and Petra Ski Resort, which is currently under development in Gudauri.
As part of the partnership, MayaBay Beach Club will be located at Petra Sea Resort next to Pullman Hotel & Residences, while at Petra Ski Resort, the MayaBay restaurant will become one of the main dining destinations at Swissôtel Hotel & Residences Gudauri.
For Petra Group, this cooperation represents more than the addition of a new brand. According to the company’s CEO, Tinatin Kalandarishvili, the selection of international partners has always been a strategic process for Petra Group.
“We are not simply looking for well-known brands. We choose partners that create real added value for our projects, our property owners and our guests,” says Tinatin Kalandarishvili.
According to her, the partnership with Maya Collection marks an important milestone for Petra Group because it once again confirms that the company’s developments are recognized by international brands as resorts of regional significance.
Petra Group’s projects already include global brands such as Pullman and Swissôtel. The partnership with Accor provides a strong foundation of international credibility for the company, while the addition of Maya Collection further strengthens this ecosystem.
According to Tinatin Kalandarishvili, both projects were designed from the very beginning as internationally scaled resorts. Petra Sea Resort aims to develop a premium seaside lifestyle destination on the Black Sea coast, while Petra Ski Resort is designed to create a world-class mountain resort in Gudauri, anchored by the destination’s first five-star hotel brand.
“Maya Collection recognized that it had found the right partner for entering Georgia, with the right vision, the right projects, and international scale ambitions,” Kalandarishvili notes.
Maya Collection is already present in well-known tourist destinations including Monaco, Dubai, Porto Montenegro, Courchevel and West Palm Beach. In the near future, the brand will also open new venues in London and Mykonos.
According to Maya Collection CEO Richard Maria, the company’s expansion strategy is clear. The brand follows its clientele to destinations that matter to them for living, leisure, travel and investment.
“We follow our clients to the places where they travel, choose to live, invest and build business relationships. In this context, Georgia has naturally emerged as one of our future destinations,” says Richard Maria.
According to him, the partnership with Petra Group was a natural choice for Maya Collection because both companies share common values and a long-term vision.
At Petra Sea Resort, MayaBay Beach Club will become one of the resort’s main culinary and entertainment destinations. The modern resort concept is no longer defined solely by the presence of a hotel or branded residences. Today, guests seek a complete experience that includes exceptional gastronomy, music, design, atmosphere and lifestyle.
The introduction of MayaBay Beach Club at Petra Sea Resort is intended to deliver exactly that experience. MayaBay’s international expertise brings together high-end gastronomy, music, design and lifestyle, adding another dimension to the seaside concept of Petra Sea Resort.
According to Richard Maria, the role of MayaBay extends far beyond operating a dining venue. In his view, a strong hospitality brand has a significant impact on the overall positioning of both the hotel and the residences.
“We believe MayaBay will become a major value driver for both the hotel and the residences. This kind of synergy will create substantial added value for the project as a whole,” says Maria.
Maya Collection’s second concept will be introduced at Petra Group’s mountain resort, Swissôtel Hotel & Residences Gudauri. The project includes a 180-room Swissôtel hotel, 290 Swissôtel branded residences, and a diverse range of supporting infrastructure.
While Petra Sea Resort is focused on a premium seaside lifestyle and summer tourism, the Gudauri development offers a completely different guest experience centered on mountains, active recreation, and après-ski culture.
In Gudauri, MayaBay will operate in a restaurant format and will become one of the main culinary destinations at Swissôtel Hotel & Residences. The concept will be adapted to the atmosphere of a mountain resort, the expectations of its guests, and the experience MayaBay has already developed in the French Alps, particularly in Courchevel and Méribel.
“One of Maya Collection’s greatest strengths is its ability to preserve its own identity while adapting naturally to completely different environments,” says Tinatin Kalandarishvili.
According to Richard Maria, the Gudauri concept is a continuation of the experience developed through MayaBay Courchevel. The brand is already well familiar with the specific characteristics of luxury mountain resorts, which creates an opportunity to apply that accumulated expertise to the project in Georgia.
Maya Collection’s approach to entering new markets is based on balancing its international identity with local culture. According to Richard Maria, the brand’s adaptation to each new destination is based on a deep understanding of its international clientele.
“Approximately 20 percent of our menu is adapted to reflect the characteristics and tastes of each local market,” says the CEO of Maya Collection.
Petra Group believes that the arrival of Maya Collection will also strengthen the investment appeal of both projects. In today’s real estate market, buyers are no longer purchasing only an apartment. They are investing in a lifestyle, a level of service, a brand, and an experience.
“The presence of international brands such as Pullman, Swissôtel, and now Maya Collection has a significant impact on a project’s recognition, market demand, and long-term value,” says Tinatin Kalandarishvili.
According to her, projects supported by strong international brands generally have greater capitalization potential and deliver stronger performance in both property sales and rental markets.
At Petra Group, Maya Collection’s entry into Georgia is seen as an important signal for the country’s tourism and hospitality sector. Partnerships of this kind increase Georgia’s international visibility, attract new audiences, and help bring in visitors with higher spending power.
Construction is currently underway on six buildings at Petra Sea Resort, while international consultants are already involved in the design of MayaBay Beach Club, including the renowned French architect Sylvestre Murigneux. MayaBay Beach Club is scheduled to welcome its first guests in the summer of 2027.
Swissôtel Hotel & Residences Gudauri is also progressing through an active phase of development. Petra Group’s goal is for both projects to become not only outstanding architectural and investment products, but also to set a new standard in the history of resort development in Georgia.
For Richard Maria, Maya Collection’s entry into Georgia sends a clear message to the international hospitality industry.
“Georgia is a country with enormous potential. Although it is sometimes underestimated, the country has significant development opportunities. Our clients are already coming to Georgia, which once again confirms that this market is a correct and promising direction for our brand’s long-term growth strategy,” says the CEO of Maya Collection.
