With the support of TBC, the Design Institute will host the fourth edition of Social Design Days on July 2–4, bringing together leading local and international experts to explore the future of circular design and sustainable innovation.
This year’s edition will focus on circular design principles, sustainable production, and innovative approaches to systemic change. Over the course of three days, more than 20 Georgian speakers and international experts, designers, urbanists, and entrepreneurs from seven countries will discuss material reuse, organic production, product longevity, and emerging business models.
The conference program will cover a wide range of topics, including architecture and urban planning, the use of recycled and organic materials in everyday life, and current trends in sustainable fashion and material innovation. The event will feature workshops, keynote presentations, lectures, exhibitions, panel discussions, and field sessions.
As part of the conference, a special workshop for graduates of TBC Tech School will be held on July 2. During the workshop, high school students will work in teams to develop an interactive text-based game using artificial intelligence tools while gaining practical insights into product life cycles and the principles of the circular economy.
Throughout the creative process, participants will explore every stage of product development—from idea generation to recycling and reuse—while developing game concepts and narratives. At the conclusion of the workshop, students will evaluate the social and environmental impact of their projects, strengthening both their technological and creative competencies.
Participants in the July program include: Circular Design Studio Hamburg, BFGF Design Studio, Mutter, UNIDCOM-IADE, Kona Books, IDAAF Architects & Lab, Nahaku Studio, Plastenco, Kasuri, Arjakeli, Ventilator, Plastic Watcher, Common Land Project, Aktusheti, Mziuri, and Tene.
Social Design Days will bring together professionals and enthusiasts interested in sustainable and circular design, the circular economy, and innovative approaches to systemic transformation. The event is particularly relevant for architects, designers, researchers, students, startups, civil society professionals, and everyone working in the fields of circular models, systems design, and sustainable development.
