Amid the ongoing protest, numerous busloads of riot police have arrived on Freedom Square and are preparing near the scene, readying for maximum security measures as the protest develops.
Protesters gathered in front of the Parliament on Rustaveli Avenue tonight in response to Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze’s announcement that Georgia is not open to EU negotiations and will refuse EU funding until 2028. The statement resulted in widespread demonstrations, with citizens climbing barricades and rallying in very large numbers.
