The Swiss Broadcasting Corporation announces that the 69th ceremony of the Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Basel, Switzerland—the birthplace of the contest itself—in 2025. The city of Basel was selected for its accessibility and artistry.
The country was granted the hosting rights after Nemo, their entry, won the previous competition in Malmö with ‘The Code’, a song exploring the speaker’s non-binary identity. The upcoming edition will be presented under the iconic motto of ‘United by Music,’ with 25 participating countries.
The contest dates are as follows: May 13 and 15 for the Semi-Finals, with the Grand Final occurring on May 17.
