- Artistic Expressions at TBC Concept: Nino Chubinishvili/Chubika Exhibition
TBC Concept, in collaboration with the Davit Kakabadze Foundation, proudly presents Nino Chubinishvili/Chubika’s exhibition, “What Would It Mean to Leave Tip Toe Dancing? Or Maybe I Will Remain a Butterfly in the War?” This captivating exhibition will be hosted at the TBC Concept multifunctional space from July 25 to September 15.
The gallery spans two floors, each offering distinct yet complementary experiences of the artist’s world, evoking a range of emotions and provoking thoughtful questions. On the first floor, visitors can explore sculptures and installations created at various times. The second floor features a unique piece from 1998—a handmade book titled “Elene,” dedicated to Chubinishvili’s son. This book, crafted with graphic sketches, is a pivotal work in the artist’s career, encapsulating a personal dialogue with her child through an imaginative visual language that transcends words.
The first floor also hosts the titular exposition, “Maybe I Will Remain a Butterfly in the War?” This piece delves into complex, multifaceted themes, inviting viewers to engage in a multidimensional dialogue. The accompanying text complements the artwork, offering space for reflection and multiple interpretations.
Nino Chubinishvili, known as Chubika, was born in 1969 and resides in Tbilisi. After studying stage and costume design at the Tbilisi Art Academy in the 1990s, she received several awards for her costume designs. She continued her studies in Paris at the French Fashion Institute (Institut Français de la Mode) in 2005-2006, working with renowned fashion houses like Kenzo and Pierre Cardin. - TBC Capital Weekly Update: Record High Net Foreign Exchange Inflows
In June, the ratio of foreign exchange inflows to GDP reached a record high. Traditional tourism has seen significant growth, the trade balance has improved, and remittances are also on the rise according to analytical estimates. The impact of migration remains steady. TBC’s operational data indicates that foreign exchange inflows and overall economic activity remained strong in July. Consequently, the GEL exchange rate has been influenced by current sentiment assessments and the slight weakening of the US dollar globally.
Regarding forecast parameters, it is clear that the macroeconomic environment is robust. However, changes in market sentiment, which are often unpredictable, are also significant. Any expectations of GEL devaluation post-elections would likely be reflected in the exchange rate sooner rather than later. Recent years’ seasonality trends of the lari highlight that although foreign exchange inflows remain seasonal, the exchange rate’s seasonality is less pronounced. Considering these factors, we maintain a largely neutral baseline scenario.
