- In Mtskheta, payment for public transport can now be made using any TBC card.
This fare can be settled either with a physical card or through a digital wallet.
Following Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Gori, Poti, Telavi, Bakuriani, Borjomi, Batumi, Rustavi, and Zugdidi, Mtskheta becomes the 11th city where TBC cards are accepted for public transport payments.
Similar to Kutaisi, Gori, Poti, Telavi, Bakuriani, and Borjomi, Mtskheta residents can use a city transport card for fares, which can be obtained at TBC branches.
In Mtskheta, students of public schools ride free with TBC Bank student cards, while students registered in Mtskheta Municipality enjoy a 50% discount with these cards. These discounts are applicable only when using a physical card.
The transport card costs 2 GEL and can be topped up using TBC Faye fast payment machines equipped with card readers.
When paying with a TBC bank card onboard, the transaction is processed offline, meaning the card’s balance is not immediately verified. This could result in the card being overdrawn at the time of payment.

- Atelier La Mode, a TBC Bank Partner, Launches Showroom
Atelier La Mode, a partner of TBC Bank, is not just a typical small business; it’s a realization of a childhood dream for founder Sopho Chumburidze. What began with a fascination for a sewing machine during a village vacation evolved into a lifelong passion for creating unique garments and toys.
The atelier officially opened its doors in Didi Dighomi in February 2020, right before the pandemic hit, initially halting business. However, Sophie’s resourcefulness led her to pivot to online platforms, where she found unexpected success showcasing her designs on social media.
Despite challenging circumstances, Atelier La Mode persisted, transitioning from sportswear to a diverse range of clothing, including suits, wedding gowns, and casual wear, catering to both local and international clients. There’s a notable demand abroad for Georgian-themed products, particularly those with traditional motifs or inscriptions.
With personal savings and support from TBC Bank, Atelier La Mode has expanded its operations, doubling its sewing machines and employing five tailors. The atelier not only produces its own line but also fulfills orders for other brands and offers alteration services.
Looking ahead, Atelier La Mode plans to open a showroom on Agmashenebeli ave, blending old-world charm with contemporary fashion. The showroom will showcase their diverse range, including sports apparel that resonates with today’s comfort-oriented clientele.

- Registration Opens for “Eliso” Award by Nato Vachnadze Foundation
Registration is now open for the inaugural Nato Vachnadze Foundation prize, the “Eliso” Award, celebrating excellence in Georgian cinema. Submissions will be accepted until May 1 for consideration. Established this year, the “Eliso” Award is the flagship initiative of the NATO Vachnadze Foundation, supported by TBC.
The award ceremony is scheduled for June 14 at the Nato Vachnadze House-Museum in Gurjaani. The foundation’s primary partners include “Tegeta,” “Tegeta Karsi,” Gurjaani Municipality, as well as “Sarajishvili,” “Galf,” “Rooms Hotels,” and others.
Founded in 2023 by filmmakers and family members, the Nato Vachnadze Foundation aims to advance the arts, particularly cinematography, while preserving the legacy of Nato Vachnadze and family values. The foundation emphasizes supporting filmmakers, historical research, cinema popularization, and empowering women.
The “Eliso” Award will recognize achievements in three categories: Best Director, Best Actor, and Best Cameraman, with each winner receiving 5000 GEL. Eligible entries include full-length documentaries and feature films produced or co-produced in Georgia in 2023.
“Eliso,” directed by Nikoloz Shengelaya, remains a landmark in Georgian cinema, known for its innovative storytelling and editing. Notably, the film breaks from the typical portrayal of women in Georgian silent films by presenting Eliso as a heroic figure rather than a victim. The lead role was played by Kira Andronikashvili, sister of Nato Vachnadze, who faced repression under Soviet rule.
Foundation members include prominent figures such as Nino Kirtadze, Rezo Kiknadze, Ketevan Shavgulidze, Guram Ghongadze, and Natalia Jugheli. A jury comprising Georgian and international cinematographers will determine nominees and winners for the Eliso Award.

- TBC Introduces QR Payment for Enhanced Restaurant Customer Experience
TBC has launched QR payment for its restaurant business, aiming to enhance customer satisfaction. This innovative approach streamlines the ordering and payment process, making it more convenient and enjoyable for patrons. With QR payment, customers can review their orders, settle the bill, and leave a tip seamlessly, all without using cash.
This QR payment method, widely used internationally, marks TBC as the pioneer in Georgia’s Horeca sector to offer this service. The process is straightforward: QR codes are strategically placed on tables or payment terminals within food establishments. Once the service staff confirms the order, customers can instantly view their bill, add a tip, and pay using any Visa or Mastercard, whether local or international. Payments are also accepted through Google Pay, Apple Pay, or by entering card details or using TBC Mobile Bank.
The QR payment interface is available in both Georgian and English, ensuring accessibility for all patrons. By adopting this technology, restaurants benefit from smoother transactions, improved customer interactions, reduced staff workload, and increased opportunities for gratuities. Businesses gain better control and reporting capabilities through integration with TBCPayments.ge, where all transactions are automatically and promptly recorded in their management systems.
Experience from global markets indicates that QR payment systems boost tipping rates by presenting users with predefined tip options or the ability to input a custom amount before finalizing payment. Notably, receiving tips through TBC incurs no transaction fees, offering a significant advantage to establishments. Furthermore, this method minimizes human errors during payments, eliminating potential mistakes often associated with manual transactions at traditional terminals.
