  • TBC Supports Farmer’s Canning Factory in Kvareli

With TBC’s backing, farmer Avtandil Marakvelidze is set to launch a canning facility in Kvareli. As spring emerges, farmers gear up for a crucial start to the year, marking the beginning of significant agricultural tasks.

In Kvareli, spring activities intensify at Avtandil Marakvelidze’s farm. Spanning 10 hectares, the farm predominantly cultivates vegetable crops, including unconventional species and varieties yet to hit the Georgian market. Procuring seed material from Swiss and Dutch firms enables the cultivation of up to 60 distinct vegetables in Kakheti, renowned for their quality and flavor.

“Our farm showcases unconventional variants of commonly grown vegetables and fruits such as tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, zucchinis, watermelons, and melons. Last year alone, we harvested 13 different watermelon varieties. We offer mini cucumbers, spicy jalapeños, diverse cherry tomatoes, and the renowned locally grown Iceberg lettuce,” says Avtandil Marakvelidze, the cooperative’s founder.

The locally grown Iceberg lettuce, highly favored by Georgian “McDonald’s,” is exclusively purchased by them. Last year, Avtandil Marakvelidze procured up to 80 tons of Iceberg lettuce. Other vegetables and fruits are primarily available in chain hypermarkets.

With TBC’s financial assistance, the cooperative erected a European-standard cold storage facility last year to preserve the harvest. Marakvelidze reveals plans to establish a canning enterprise in the future, focusing on preserving select vegetables grown on their farm. All operations adhere to the international quality standard, Global GAP (Good Agricultural Practice).

  • TBC Engagements during “Global Money Week”

As part of “Global Money Week,” TBC representatives paid visits to schools in Zestafon and Sachkheri. They imparted knowledge on financial literacy, economics, and entrepreneurship to students. These sessions were interactive, allowing students to pose questions and receive informative responses.

The “Global Money Week” initiative, now in its tenth year in Georgia, was pioneered by the National Bank. Internationally, the event has been held annually each spring across over 170 nations since 2012. Its primary aim is to enhance financial, economic, and entrepreneurial understanding among youths and to advocate for these crucial areas.

TBC consistently plays an active role in this week-long event, employing diverse informational campaigns across social media platforms and physical spaces to raise awareness. Moreover, in collaboration with the National Bank of Georgia and its established financial education platform, Finedus, TBC engages in numerous educational and awareness initiatives tailored for both students and educators.

  • Starting with the backing of TBC, the development of distinctive concept apartments in Tbilisi Hills commences.

Located just 15 minutes from the city center within the multifaceted Tbilisi Hills complex, supported by TBC, the construction of new apartments is underway.

The development encompasses three four-story buildings, each accommodating 44 apartments. These new residences in Tbilisi Hills promise a contemporary living experience adhering to international standards, meticulously tailored to the desires and necessities of prospective residents.

Three key elements define the essence of this project: a sense of personal space, unparalleled quality standards, and abundant recreational areas.

  • Sense of Personal Space

Each apartment will feature expansive 3.4-3.6 meter sliding stained glass windows, amplifying the perception of spaciousness. Isolated balconies and sound-proof walls ensure residents enjoy utmost privacy.

The generous terraces accompanying the apartments offer opportunities for recreational pursuits and greenery. Selected terraces can be designated for pool installation, while a shading system shields against excess sunlight.

  • Unparalleled Quality Standards

Utilizing premier European building materials throughout construction guarantees top-notch quality. The project prioritizes essential infrastructure, fire safety, and convenient elevator access. Moreover, the buildings will be disability-friendly, with underground parking floors equipped with designated spaces and storage units for residents’ belongings.

The apartments come with a blank canvas interior, allowing for the creation of refined and distinctive designs.

  • Abundant Recreational Areas

One of the distinguishing features of Tbilisi Hills apartments is the solar-powered, self-cooling atrium, serving as a serene communal space amidst the residences, furnished with cozy seating and lush greenery.

Adjacent to the apartments, a recreational zone will be established, incorporating a stadium, park, children’s play area, and more. Additionally, residents will have access to Georgia’s premier professional golf courses.

To enhance residents’ daily convenience, commercial spaces will be erected near the apartments, housing shops, a pharmacy, cafes, and other amenities.
